Jun 25,  · This is the companion CD to the book of the same title, and together the book and CD are a great help in learning to sing these wonderful Latin American songs. My only criticism is that the CD liner notes don't contain the text of the songs. It would be good to have these, for people who don't want to buy the book along with the CD/5(99).

Simple acoustic guitar accompaniment and standard strophic form allow Rodrigo to identify each character—such as a cowboy, a lover, and a star—and let his or her story come through.

Ruddy shadows, the sanguine flare illumining the night-lit alcove of the adjacent bodega: Ernesto Lecuona’s Malagueña opens side A in that archetypical fashion. It is a wondrous composition, world-famous and beloved both by serious classic listeners and Exotica aficionados alike, even though its shadowy murkiness and utter devotion are more akin to besotted creepiness than paradisiac languor.
